I am trying to install Vista 64 on a machine and after it says windows is loading files goes away I come across the infamous BSOD. Sometimes the message says IRQL something something, then sometimes it says Page fault in non page area.
I have asked my best friend, google, but it seems like this error message can be tied to anything both sotfware and hardware. I ran PC Check all night last night and woke up to see all the tests it ran on hardware all passed. It did test memory and hard drive for errors but came up nothing.
I have unplugged everything from the machine except for the HD and CD drive. I have tried one stick of memory and still no luck. I have tried installing XP 32-bit thinking it was a 64bit issue but still same problem with XP 32bit. I did try a different power supply and still same issue.
I am running out of ideas on what to do. I actually did run to microcenter and picked up a new motherboard thinking it might have been the motherboard but it wasn't so now I am stuck with a motherboad since Microcenter wont let me return it.
My question is can you guys think of anything else I can try to successfully install either Vista or XP?Huh?? Although I ran a hardware check I still have this feeling it's something to do with hardware compatibility issues with XP and vista but I I haven't been able to pin point which hardware it is. Thanks in advance!!!!!
