Russia invasion of Ukraine bad? Sure, and NATO aggressive posture and expansion also bad. There is always two sides of a conflict? Can we acknowledge this?

I think at this point NATO needs to be ended because there is no Soviet Union.

Russian predilection for invading their neighbors well predated the Soviet Union and quite clearly still persists to this day. Not exactly a strong argument that the alliance is now somehow superfluous!

Saying an organization designed with the primary goal of defending its members from Russian invasion is unnecessary while Russia is currently invading two of its neighbors is quite a statement.

A flat landscape with little to no cover, defended by dug in, determined people who have Western weapons and intel.

Sounds like the kind of nightmare that can cost you 1000 people a day, or more, easily.

A simple classic:

A KGB agent goes to a library and sees an old Jewish man reading a book. “What are you reading, old man?”

“I’m learning Hebrew, comrade,” he replies.

“What are you learning Hebrew for? You know it takes years to get a permission to travel to Israel? You will die before you get one.”

“I’m learning Hebrew for when I go to heaven so I can speak with Moses and Abraham,” replies the old man.

“How do you know you’re going to heaven? What if you go to hell?” asks the KGB agent.

“I already speak Russian.”

The reason that Eastern European countries like the Baltic's and Poland begged to join NATO was because of Russia's long history of doing terrible things to them. Russia's invasion and continued war crimes against Ukrainians is just further proof that if you are a neighbor of Russia you will suffer and is the reason why NATO still exists. Just because the Soviet Union has dissolved doesn't mean Russia's aggressiveness against it's neighbors has stopped.

So looks like the Ukraine aid bill will be passed in the next couple days.

So basically Republicans turned down a sweet deal for their border priorities in exchange for... nothing.
Here's the story, top left front page New York Times. This link should work to get anyone past the paywall for 14 days, i.e. until May 3, 2024:

I am justifying US's illegal Iraq invasion? You are wrong here and misquoting something or taking it wrong. In recent history I can't think of anything remotely close to saying that.

Still, I repeat: The main problem with US is its very, very aggressive and ruthless foreign policy and endless meddling in other countries. It acts like the sole hegemon of the world, but thankfully this is changing. I have no issues with American people at all and America is the land of opportunity.

TIL "aggressive posturing" is just as bad as bombing maternity hospitals.

I see consistency is the key motto with you guys. I am sure you were equally outraged over America's role in Syria, Lybia, Iraq, Afghanistan, Somalia and other countries as you are over Russia's role in Ukraine? I don't recall seeing any heavy criticism of US slaughter of millions or calls for arresting Bush, Obama and Trump, etc. Even today, I hardly see much criticism of America here when it actively funds Israeli genocide in Gaza. Let's see some consistency that you require from others. Maybe I am expecting too much.

Regardless, I can't even be sure you guys are genuine in these discussions and inquiries.
You think the US should have invaded Cuba with all that socialism creeping at it’s door

Ukraine needed this aid 7 months ago.
By now, they needed even more.

It wasn't for nothing. It served Putin's interests.

Eagerly anticipating the much discussed Russian mass assault this summer that will meet up just in time with 6 months worth of delayed munitions aid for the AFU.

Johnson finally realized that he's in a coalition government. McCarthy would still be speaker if he came to the same conclusion earlier and was less of a dick. Too many people wanted to see him twist in the wind.

From what I’ve read Democrats viewed McCarthy as dishonest and while Johnson is still an asshole they don’t think he is a liar (in the legislative promises sense).

Johnson seems bad at his job (negotiating himself out of a win on the border and all) but if he can be trusted to follow through on agreements that is a lot better.

You don't and it isn't; that's more of a comment on your view of consistency being some kind of lofty achievement. The rest of us see it as a normal prerequisite to being an adult with a sense of dignity and self-respect. You don't have any though, as you've been so fervent in demonstrating for everyone.

I asked you to provide a single example of America following Russia's play book of genocide and war crimes and you ran away. Now you're throwing a tantrum because others won't satiate your butthurt over America in a thread about Russia's invasion and war crimes in Ukraine. I expected you to be able to answer a simple hypothetical, then I expected you could to give a just a single example of Russian level war crimes by Americans. Pussed out both times. Clearly I was expecting too much. Is there nothing you won't try to project?

Your blind ass needs to fuck the hell off kid; no one expects anything from a coward and liar but cowardly lies. If you want to see criticism of America go play with the Search function and educate yourself, or start a dedicated thread for it. Maybe Zor can join in, turn that circle jerk in more of a Devil's Triangle?

I think Johnson has slowly realized that the Twitter faction in his party isn't really interested in legislating.

While Democrats find his personal beliefs objectionable he does appear to be slowly discovering the pragmatic nature his position demands and figuring out how to neutralize the right flank that ousted his predecessor. Dems would not have pissed on McCarthy if he was on fire because that's the relationship he cultivated.

To me the clearest thing is the double standard. Russia is doing everything he claims to hate about the US but he doesn’t care.

Amusingly enough he’s even tried to blame the US for Russia invading Ukraine. He’s either the victim of a ton of propaganda or he’s spreading it himself.
