Sounds serious to me.

What is disturbing in my eyes is that eventually the USA may end up in the same boat. The current administrations' secrecy, trampling on the constituion and the Bill of Rights, along with the Democrats still being as impotent as Richard Simmons visting the Playboy mansion, I don't see a bright future ahead.

In the end though, it's our own damn fault, as well as the Russian citizens. We sit by and do nothing while we could be making change peacefully, then decide to act only when change must be brought via violence. Well, I hope we don't wait that long anyway.

I don't see any correlation between Russia the USA.

And what will you say in less than 2 years when Bush is out of office and powerless and Democrats are in control? That we live in a dictatorship?

Putin is on the way per his constitution. Only he's been publically sending out political balloons aroudn the idea he'll personally repeal the term limits law.

Yeah, I was listening to this on NPR/BBC World. Russians apparently think the police, army, and press sux . . . but they love Putin. Basically, a country of Bush43 supporters.

Yeah...I'm not exactly a big Bush supporter, but that's the great thing about our system. No matter how much I disagree with his policies, and no matter how much his toadies still slobber all over him, he's going to be out in less than 2 years. It's a great system, and one of the reasons we DON'T live in a dictatorship...no matter how much support a crazy president has for his crazy ideas, he's only got at most 8 years to screw things up. And while it might SEEM like a long time if you don't like the guy, it's not really all that long.
