RX 6800 for $500, the best value right now?

Looking to upgrade my aging GTX 2060, and these puppies are at the sweet spot, it seems. 6800 XT costs $120 more, and at that point 6900 XT isn't far and can be bought for $679 from AMD directly. Even compared to what is coming down later (RX 7000 series), I think performance/price holds up well for RX 6800 for $500. RTX 3000/4000 series are out of my price range.

So I am thinking of picking one of the followings. I would appreciate any input as to which one to go for.

XFX SWFT319
XFX QICK319
Powercolor Fighter
ASUS TUF Gaming
Sapphire Pulse

Any other thoughts welcome. I am not in a rush and I can wait longer if prices will come down more.

I sold my 6800XT to a friend for $420.69. See what you can pick up used.
There are not a lot going used at all. Just a couple on EBay, thats why I'm thinking of just biting the bullet and getting that 6950xt.

Coupled with a EK-Vector this thing is quite capable to catch up with the 7900XT in anything RT-less.

These non-xt 6800's look to be the real deal. It is substantially more powerful than the 6750 XT, and with less power draw.
So tempted to grab one, and put the 6750 XT in the closet for a backup

That reference 6950xt has just the two 8 pin power connectors (I say just! Times have changed since I last bought!) so it's power draw is presumably a bit more reasonable than the non reference cards.

Goodness I'm such a sucker... Got the Gigabyte RX 6800 Gaming OC incoming... w/ TLOU game offer.. $465... absolutely crazy
It's the best deal going IMO.

That card is a big boy, did you confirm it will fit in your case?

Consider the original MSRP on the 3070 was $499. The price of the more than 2 year old 6800 even at $450 is still bloated. We live in strange times. The demand for CPU's and GPU's is in the toilet. Calm before the storm it seems. They keep prices jacked up without demand. It's like a cliff or stormy seas. Hold until the bottom falls out on the market.

I just bought a GPU, monitor and CPU so the prices of all those will probably drop now! 😆

The economic term is opportunity cost. You made a calculated assessment and risk for your computer needs. I wouldn't lose sleep over it. The 6800xt is the RDNA2 GPU that people should be watching. At $450 the 6800 is not a bad buy. I just think the market is going to flip upside down. Demand is way down for all parts.

It's the $199 price that has always been an important price point for GPU's. I know Nvidia and AMD would like people to think otherwise. I know a $200 GPU means little on this forum. For mainstream gamers, that is the price point that sells a ton of cards.

AMD sold a ton of RX480 and RX580's at $199 or less before the crypto craze. The great 1080Ti at the end of it's lifecycle was going for $499-$550.
