God how could I forget Fleetwood Mac "Landslide"... They did an awesome live version of it in the last few years. Tori Amos and Smashing Pumpkins have done covers.

One of my favorite songs.

Hey l2c...

I can play that on the piano and sing it at the same time.

I wanted to be Stevie Nicks but my voice is more like Christine McVies.

Edit: I can play Sarah, too.

Oh.... could we all have forgotten....

Bohemian Rhapsody????

(I can't play that one, though. Too many darn time changes/key changes! Ack!)

<< Jewel - Foolish Games >>

I agree.. seems cheezy, being that the most played cd's in my car system the last week have been Eminem, Limp Bizkit and Nelly.. but I like Jewel.

One song that still makes me stuffy eyed is 'You were meant for me' by Jewel.

that was "our song" of the first big crush I ever had in Junior high, with this beautiful blonde that I was good friends with for years, and who I took to my junior high prom.

lost touch with her after high school.. but I still remember how I felt when she was around, and that song always makes me think of her, and slow dancing with her in my tux at my first formal in J.H.

ScienceFictionTwin,

<< Cat Stevens - Trouble (Mona Bon Jakon) >>

Hey I mentioned that one already! Good call on "The Wind" though... forgot about that one. Your list was pretty thorough.

Anything by Aimee Mann is good. All mellow but not necessarily as sad as "Save Me". "Wise Up" is good. Loved that scene from Magnolia.

<< EDIT: The original song that Pearl Jam covered to make "Lask Kiss" was, IMHO, better and was titled "Where oh Where can my Baby Be", I forget the artists. >>

No, it was always called "Last Kiss". It was by J. Frank Wilson and the Cavaliers.

"Good call on "The Wind" though... forgot about that one"

I always thought "The Wind" was more uplifting than sad.

If you don't mind my asking... WHY do you want to make a sad CD? I can't think of a good reason to have that much depression power concentrated in one place.....

Also, good call on Moonlight Sonata. I imagine if I were ever going to commit suicide, I would do so with that song playing in the room.
