The OP's BestBuy link is to the older model. The older model Saitek Gamer's keyboard PZ08A has a breakout keypad for macros (which their own surveys said was underused and only added to the cost). The newer model Saitek Eclipse PZ30AU don't have backlighting that illuminates between the keys but rather it illuminates through the keys. The Eclipse also doesn't have the macro keypad addition. Personally I wished that on the Eclipse they kept the macro keypad for the price you're paying for these keyboards. However, Saitek is coming out with a gamer pad addition that will complement the Eclipse (read: give Saitek more money). http://www.psillustrated.com/e3_2005/story.php/E3%20Buzz/639

Dell has the newer Eclipse keyboard for $40.76, not sure about shipping. Unfortunately Dell charges tax in PA or I'd buy one off them. Good deal if Dell doesn't charge tax in your state. Amazon has the Eclipse for 47.45 shipped free.

Modders HQ has very good pictures to give you an idea of how the new Eclipse looks. http://www.moddershq.net/reviews.asp?reviewid=96&pagenumber=1

I had the gamer but switched to the eclipse myself. Big difference, with the eclipse you can actually use your computer in the dark. The gamer is good too if your going to use the extra keypad, something I had no use for. Otherwise I recomend the eclipse.

I ordered the eclipse from Dell tonight, but it says it won't ship until August 30! Is Dell really that slow? My brother ordered a laptop tonight too its ship date is 6 days sooner than my keyboard

I bought an Eclipse back in like April when it was released on Woot for $35+5 shipping, ended up selling it the same day I rec'd it, unfortunately. I wish someone would make a backlit natural keybaord.

Fine, fine, twist me arm.... I'll go get one. My Nextel has been messing with my Logitech Wireless MX Duo anyways.

Anybody know if Gamer keyboard sans command pad can be used on 98SE?
I like the design & color scheme of Gamer more than that of Eclipse. OS compatibility and lighting up letters are the only part Eclipse is better imo.

The sticker on the back says "Works with Windows 200 and XP." however if you peel it, it lists 98, Me, 2000 and XP. So not sure if it will actually work on 98, but it used to be supported at one time.

I just bought the Eclipse a couple days ago online. Used my Giftcard (yay we can now use giftcards on the website). My main reason for getting the Eclipse is that the backlighting goes through the letters on the keyboard so you can see the keys in the dark. Should be delivered today.

The OP is a good deal though..I almost got it before I saw the difference in backlighting.

i have the gamer and it looks like from the pictures that the only difference between the two is the extra pad and the illumination. one is around the keys and the other is through the keys
