Hello everyone,
I have been struggling to make a decision between replacing or salvaging my DELL XPS laptop purchased on 2011. The specs are as follows:
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2630QM CPU @ 2.00GHz
Memory (RAM): 8.00 GB
Here is a link of its performance rating:

I was planning to replace its motherboard to salvage the laptop entirely and on searching online vendors, I found this:
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32826652050.html
So I had the following exchange of messages with the seller:
https://postimg.cc/21SMDjGK
As you can see, she is not able to answer my damn question, for whatever unknown reason. I need some insight on what I'm trying to purchase and whether its feasible to replace it myself.
My current mother board has numerous problems, apart from being dirty and thermally throttling.
Firstly, I believe the sound hardware is damaged. It gives out this strange screeching and crackling noise coming out when any sound is played, as though someone is scratching their nails on a rough board. I'd say may also be a blown speaker.
Second of all, the power system is damaged. At first I thought it was merely a problem with replacing its battery, but it turned out that my laptop could not recognize a newly purchased battery even though the seller listed the item to be compatible with a Dell XPS L502X.

The replacement fitted fine inside, but with the power cord was plugged in, when I moved the mouse over the battery/power icon, the message was "0% available(plugged in, not charging)" and the icon showed one tiny bar remaining. The laptop would simply shutdown instantly if the power plug was even slightly disturbed. Not to mention the seller sent me another one when and it also has the same issue. This is specially a redacted to deal with because the power to the laptop doesn't fit in properly as I mentioned on this thread: https://forums.mydigitallife.net/th...power-cable-and-jack-port.76807/#post-1425941
The strange thing is that some times it randomly starts charging. I don't know what gives.
Thanks
