I have an Instinct and am greatly disappointed with it. Definitely wasn't worth $130. The camera is what you'd expect from a tiny 2 MP flashless camera, it's decent in bright areas, but horrible in low light. The OS locks up once a week, forcing me to turn the phone off and back on. Best Buy advertised PAM support, which the phone is capable of but Sprint doesn't support. Sprint advertises unlimited Text/IM as part of the plan, but the phone doesn't have any IM apps. Which brings me to the most disappointing aspect... not only are there so few applications available, the ones that are there are completely terrible in every way you can imagine. Totally useless (lava-life chat? are you fucking kidding me?) and expensive.
And yes, the browser is crap. Fortunately, there's a lot of Instinct owners pushing Opera to make a Opera Mini version that's fully compatible. As it stands, there's an old version of Opera Mini that sorta works... you just can't type in anything in forms because the browser doesn't know how to call the Instinct's keyboard to take user inputs.
For those considering getting one... rethink your decision. If it's worth $130 to have a touch screen phone that doubles as an MP3 player and gives you access to email, go for it. As for any of its other features, they're not good enough to justify paying for. Sprint's plan, 450 anytime minutes and unlimited everything (nights/weekends, text, data) else for $70/mo is the only redeeming factor to this phone, but of course you don't have to get this phone to get that plan.
