Greetings!
I have a Gigabyte 7VRX motherboard (KT333) and have a question regarding the memory benchmark in Sandra. I score about 2010/1930ish max in the bench which isnt much better then the reference 266A board according to the comparison. I have 512 Corsair PC3000 DDR CAS2 ram and i have the DDR frequency set to 333Mhz in the bios and yet according to Sandra this is what it sees:
Bank 0 setting 256MB DDR-SDRAM 2.0-2-2CL 1CMD
Bank 1 setting 256MB DDR-SDRAM 2.0-2-2CL 1CMD
Bank Interleave 4-way
Memory bus speed 2 x 134Mhz (268Mhz data speed)
Max memory bandwidth 2144mb/s
It also says my chipset is a VT8366 Apollo KT266 (I would have thought this should read as a KT333)
Anyway im just a little confused as to why its saying my memory is running at DDR 2100 (266Mhz) rather then the 333Mhz i have it rated to in the bios.. I know my module is good quality, its corsair and i bought it from newegg, plus its rated to run higher then what im trying to run it at so im at a loss.
Is this a known issue with this board? Is there any other place i can try and force the memory to run at 333 Mhz frequency? I already have all the most aggressive timings on that i can possibly set in the bios. Any other ideas or advice?
Im running Sandra 2002 Professional and the memory is a single 512 Meg module.
Thanks in advance.
