I wanted to find out if anyone else has experienced/noticed this.
I have an ASRock H67M-GE with a i7-2600, 16GB of RAM, a simple 750GB Barracuda ES (enterprise) hard drive, all powered by a Seasonic SS400FL (400watt, 80 Plus Gold) power supply.
OS: Natty Narwhal 64bit
The test app: "mprime" from mersenne.org running Stress Test, #3.
With the motherboard that was recalled, the power consumption maxes out at 105-107 watts
With the new B3 replacement motherboard I got today, the power consumption under the same tests runs at above 135 watts (a jump of over 25%).
Anyone else experienced this lil' oddity?
I'll try to tweak the BIOS tomorrow since the I was in a hurry and only did basic tweaking.
Only other difference is the thermal compound (I ran out of my AS matrix and had to use the venerable AS5).
But still....25%?
