Sanyo Eneloop 2000 MaH Recharables

I am looking to purchase a 4-pack of Sanyo Eneloop batteries. The shipping charges at Thomas Distributing and Amazon are a joke.

Does anyone have any ideas where I can get these batteries with little to free shipping?

There are also a number of batteries that have the same tech - Rayovac Hybrids for one. I'm sure you can find others in a computer store like Fry's or maybe Microcenter.

Duracell pre-charged rechargeables I believe are the same as Sanyo Eneloop.
Read the reviews on Amazon, some electrical engineer guy has good info on rechargeables and chargers.

They don't lose their charge just sitting around. Traditional NiMH discharge over time.

course any precharged/hybrid also does the same. but the enthusiasts consider the enloops the most desirable.

i get them at costco, it's like $20 for 8 AA's 4 AAA's. and the charger, with C/D adaptors

I recently bought this 24-pack of AA R2U batteries for $25.49 after coupon code "Coupon15" (without the quotes).

I will say that the 2300 maH is overstated, and they're closer to the 2000 maH of the eneloops. Also, 3 of the first 4 I tested were at 1100 maH with 1 at 1900 maH. After doing just one discharge with my BC-700 charger, 3 were rated at 1900+ maH with 1 over 2000 maH.

I'd say they're well worth the price compared to the eneloops; however, if you only need 4, then 24 would be overkill. The reason I bought so many are to use them in my kiddie toys for the newborn. I'm going to make some C and D adapters for his toys, and the AA batteries should do great in them.

The price of the eneloops on Amazon isn't bad if you buy it along with something else for the free shipping. I ordered a 4-pack of Eneloop AAA batteries for my universal remote along with something else and got the free shipping. $11 for 4 batteries wasn't cheap, but it's better than going through about 12-16 batteries per year in my remote.
