Sattelite Radio - Will you subscribe?

Dallas paper had an article about how we will be the first to get it, along with San Diego. Link. Will you subscribe? I won't be the first on my block to do it, cause I mainly listen to CDs.

Not me. I rarely listen to the radio and certainly could live without it. It doesnt really matter anyways, bc eventually you will be able to listen to whatever you want whenever you want whereever you want for free, or close to it due to progressing technologies in wireless services, handheld devices and just general connectivity.

I love online commercial radio...especially some U.S. jazz stations, which are slowly but surely making their way back online...w00t!!! But to pay for pre-programmed content without the human interaction? Never.

Maybe one day, but for now I'm happy having my MP3 player in the car. What's the deal with only certain cities getting it? I remember seeing on TV that one of the big advantages was that you could listen to the same stations anywhere in the country, which sounded pretty sweet. If it's gonna be the same crap I get over FM in my area, then forget it.

if it came with my car for say $5/mo or something, i MIGHT consider it, but i have plenty of cds and what not, i like choosing what i'm going to listen to. To many radio stations play too much crap.

Yes, I'd definitely go for it. My Kenwood car radio already supports it (Sirius Satellite Radio)

wow, im glad im not running this company - people on the "cutting edge" of technology, and hardly any of them want it. $10 a month is too steep?

av3s2k: if you read the article, it will be rolled out nationwide in November. They just want to do a "beta" test in those two areas. Once you buy it will work from coast to coast.

Actually I for one would be for it, assuming the equipment was <$150 or so. $10/mo is not that much at all for true CD-quality sound - burning CDs from MP3s doesn't sound that great anyways. And with 77 music channels I'd be for it. My only question is, will they make enough in subscription fees to cover the launch of sattelites?

I would be interested if good reception anywhere in the country.

I make six 1800-mile trips (one way) a year, and it would be cool not to hold down the seek button all the way through Kansas on I-70 (FYI, the most goadawful boring stretch of road in the country).
