Why do they keep making sequels? The first one wasn't very good and I never bothered watching the other two because of it.

Actually the first was really good, the second not so much, and the third was meh

I think the problem is the movie is becoming too "gore centered" instead of being more psychological like the first

The budgets are relatively tiny and they make 10 or 20 times back at least just at the box office.

I thought the first one was ok. The second one sucked. I hated it the freaking camera angles and effects (were to distracting). I did not even bother watching the 3rd one. Needless to say I wont be watching the 4th one.:thumbsdown:

The new Saw movies blow chunks. The first one was good, the second one had it's moments, but the third one? It sucked.

Saw 1 - $1.2 million budget, $55 million gross

Saw 2 - $4 million budget, $144 million gross

Saw 3 - $10 million budget, $165 million gross

Saw 4 - $10 million budget. Even if it tanks at the box office it'll still be profitable within 24 hours of opening.

^ Bingo. They're straight cash machines. If you knew you could make 20-30 times your investment guaranteed why wouldn't you do it every year too?

I bet they'll keep making them until we get tired of them.. but that probably won't be until Saw IX or something.
