this is why euthanasia should be legal (dons flamesuit)

I agree totally, no need to don your flamesuit

Has the patient actually said he/she wants to die?

Yeah, but since euthanasia isnt legal the only thing he could request was a DNR.

I'm an EMT and I hate getting patients with a DNR. It makes me feel useless, mostly because there isn't much I can do to ease their pain. I can't give any drugs or anything like that. All I can do is transport.

Seeing something like that must be hard.

Are EMT's allowed to give medications? When I was one we wern't allowed to give anything other than an epi-pen if a patient already had one.

Now I'm an Anesthesiologist and can give anything I want

EMT-P can (paramedic). I am just an EMT-B, so I can't. Well, I can give O2, and Nitrus if the pt has it, or epi pen.

Oh, don't forget Glucose or charcoal!

No kidding. That's no miracle.

Yup. Miracle is watching bits and pieces of a brain tumor crumble out the nostrils of a man on his death bed in a hospital, dying of said tumor.

Don't get me wrong, I'm happy this dude made it, but miracle is supposed to be scientifically impossible or something, right?

Since the poor guy has requested DNR it seems more like torture.

It was his choice to keep on trucking. And yeah, "reversing from a lethal dysrythmmia without any medical intervention except for human touch", which is NOT scientfically explainable, is pretty much of a miracle. Oh, and STFU, Nik.

what's nitrus? oh wait emt-b...nevermind

the number of spelling errors in this thread is amazing.

The human body will react by itself under conditions that will result in death.

Human touch is a sort of quasi-proven device. I believe in it. However, I don't think it can be just anyone or any kind of touch.

I also believe in euthanization if asked for prior to medical duress.
