This is the secret to good working from home. Keep your gaming pc away from your work-from-home office space. I fail at that. Actually I use Synergy so I'm even using the same keyboard/mouse to control my work laptop and it's just too easy to move between them.

this is the first time i've ever worked from home heh, so it's really tempting. but im fighting it. i don't game on pc though so i don't really have temptation to use my home pc right now. using my work laptop though.

but my theater is only about 20 steps or so away...

Yesterday morning, I drove through three school districts that had called a snow day to get to my job - in one of the only area districts that hadn't.

But they cancelled their after school programs, because god forbid anybody have basketball practice after slogging through the snow to get to school at 7AM.

yet ANOTHER overhyped storm that hardly did anything. they called for 6-10 inches around here and i have about MAYBE 1 inch on the grass and a buncha slush on the road.

why is it that as technology gets better the weather predictions get so much worse? i remember when i was a kid they used to be on the money with predictions. now they are so totally off with this shit.

Since when do colleges have snow days? Here they only have snow days for high school and below. Though lately I find they have more snow days than I can remember when I was in high school, and our winters are way more tame than they were then. We only got like 2-3 good storms this year.

I'm in NoVA and I got 6+ inches. i think the rain/snow border straddled DC, so those east of the potomac got way less.

I didn't get so lucky. I'm also in NoVa, but my evening class has so far not been canceled, if they haven't done it by now, probably aren't going to. I did get to leave work 4 hours early though.

EDIT: I stand corrected, class was canceled after all. Which is silly, because the roads really aren't bad, but I'll take it.

I drove to McLean this morning from Rockville, and the roads were wet. On my way home around noon, it was snow/raining at times.
