Search weirdness?

If I use the top search box or advanced search to search, I always get:

No users were found matching the author your entered. Please re-construct your search, and try again.

If I use the sidebar search, I always get:

No search results were found

Yeah, I was trying to search for "ipod" on the FS/FT forums and I got that error. Tis frickin annoying I say!!

Anyone know what kind of search the left one is? Category/title only or something else?

As an aside - ever notice how many searches we have? Top advanced search tab, Search Category and advanced search below that, Search and advanced search to left.
