"True DDR 400, not that overclocked garbage that our competitors sell"

i have heard that dribble at a number of dereputable stores around the web as well. Its a great price, but it maybe too good to be true... but it appears that the retailer is on the up and up...

dew.

These guys are one of the few on the Twinmos reseller's list. Can't be too bad. Just kind of glitzy.

Yea these were the guys claiming to be selling winbond chips and after people started checking under the heat spreaders they found that the chips were Vdata.

I just ordered some Samsung 3200 at komusa. Do not know if it true Samsung or not. RR with 2 looks good only 2 though. One person said this about the 2 chips he got. 512 chip for 67$ and free shipping for first chip.

I decided to buy from Komusa when KnowledgeMicro started jerking me around.

I ordered two 512MB PC3200 (DDR400) Samsung RAM chips. Also ordered two high-quality aluminum RAM sinks. ($173 total)

Free shipping was only for one RAM chip... which is OK considering how cheap they were to begin with. I actually got Samsung RAM modules (some companies give you generic when you specifically purchase a name brand product).

I have yet to fully test the chips with my motherboard, I will update this post once I do.

Shipping was USPS Priority. Packaging was adequate. Overall, very good service / website for a relatively new company. Prices can't be beat.

Update:
RAM works absolutely perfectly and the heatspreaders helped to keep the temperature down.

I highly recommend KOMUSA for future buys.

I have purchased RAM from Hardcorecooling several times, with no problems whatsoever, everything ran as avertised. It appears that everyone in the other thread who got the vdata chips instead of the Winbond were able to return the RAM, but as far as I can tell, iit appears that it did not overclock in their systems well.

I was able to push the OCZ PC3200 I got from them to 494Mhz, and the system booted just fine. Of course, Winblows would not load, but that was to be expected.

If windows won't boot. Pushing the RAM till 600Mhz will not be any difference either.

Well, yea, but windows is a fragile piece of crap. Linux booted, although it ran inconsistenly.

Still the same thing I'm gonna say. Inconsistency has cost me alot in the past. But I bet that OCZ could run at 450 but what timing was it at??

I would not recommend ordering PC3200 from Komusa. I personally called them and asked about their ram, and I was told their PC3200 is actually overclocked pc2700......

7-1-1-1R 4-1-1-1W 2.0-3-3CL 1CMD

But what a dumbass I am, I never even thought to try it with more relaxed settings, it might have worked just fine, even at that speed. I just assumed it was the PCI/AGP bus being so overclocked that it was causing the problems.

Anyone recieved any of the pc3200 memory yet? Mine comes on the 9th. I'm wondering what settings to run it on with my XP 2400+. My MB is a KT400 by Soltek. What do you guys think I will be able to get overclock wise? And what memory settings do you suggest for this ram. Thanks

Update on Komusa chips. I recieved the 2 chips and they are indeed oc 2700 chips. Called the individual up and he did state that they were oc chips. I told him that he should state that on his website. Alll in all the order has arrived in very good time and they do have lifetime warrenty. I paid 68 $ a piece for them and am not a big overclocker so I will keep them. Do not have time or a good processor to really see what they can do.
