So...Trump went from raking the forest to wetting it? 🤡
A year ago we were told to only water our lawns once a week for 10 minutes. One town near me told people to just let their lawns die because grass could not survive on this schedule. But he wants to water the entire state. The obvious question is "where would this water come form?"

I know he says it is free from the sky. Maybe we could pray for the water from the sky like the Utah governor said to do.

And yes the people applauding this BS is really sad.

Oh didn’t you hear? The Chinese have weather bombs they can shoot at clouds so we can just do something similar.

*I’m aware that such a technology is actually being used

They're only allowed to do their heathen magic on the small plots of land we graciously allowed them to live on. They should be thanking us for not wiping them off the face of the earth for being on our land.
My wife used to work at eco-lodge that had a bunch of wild turkeys hanging around. A couple years ago we were in extreme drought (again) and some Navajo women came to the lodge in search of turkey feathers to use in a rain ceremony. My wife was like, "hell, yes! Take what you need!" At that point, we'd have prayed for rain to the goddamn god of atheism if it had a chance of working.

@IronWing

Various cultures have a rain ceremony of some type.

I do hope people know I was being facetious with my previous comment. It's criminal how various minorities have been suppressed in this country.
Yes, the Trump/MAGA braindead faction is far more likely to (once again) call for deporting the "illegal" native Americans than to ask for their help in anything.

We could put a bunch of cardboard cutouts of Obama all over the forests and pay hookers to piss on them. Dampen the forests real quick.

lmao if you polled herpes in the NJ Dem primary it would get more than 5%

He's gonna retire.
Of course, if that had been a Republican caught taking millions (or billions) from middle eastern countries after granting them major political favors, the Republicans have proven they see that as a non-issue.

So maybe Menendez should run instead as the Republican candidate?

So, some of the gold has been identified by the FBI as having been owned by, stolen from and returned to the accused briber.

WNBC-TV Report: Gold bars found in Menendez's home match those owned by Daibes

New Jersey Globe|11 hours ago
In a bombshell report from WNBC-TV's Jonathan Dienst, at least four gold bars that the FBI found while searching the home of U.S. Senator Bob Menendez had been owned by his accused briber, developer Fred Daibes. According to Dienst, Daibes reported 22 ...

Jon Stewart thinks Bob M should have just kept legally stealing from his seat in the Senate instead of doing dumb crimes:

Jon Stewart on Senator Robert Menendez’s corruption charges: ‘How dumb is you?’ | Late-night TV roundup | The Guardian

“But perhaps the dumbest thing about this entire, not-quite-believable Real Housewives episode is how unnecessary it all is,” said Stewart. “You, sir, are an elected official in America’s most respected legislative body. It’s like a license to print money. You don’t need to break the law so cartoonishly when the legal corruption in the Senate is so fucking lucrative.” The trial occasioned a new Daily Show segment: “Senator Robert Menendez, how dumb is you?”

Jon Stewart ain't wrong. You just sit and collect your $174k per year along with health benefits. A couple terms is enough to set you for life, unless you're spending it on hookers and blow. Don't forget all the special interest "donations" that happens all the time. Congress is literally a license to print money.

Why do you think Bobo is so desperate to keep her seat? Free money for doing exactly jack shit. Boebert and Marjorie Taylor Greene have accomplished exactly zero worthwhile tasks. Zero.

A lot of people just can't help themselves. There are a number of ways for congresspeople to have lucrative side hustles that don't involve the more cartoonish forms of corruption. People like Menendez just do it this way for the fun of it.

What bunch of BS, let's just tie the prosecutors hands behind his back. With this and the SCOUTUS's attitude about bribery it really strains the ability for democracy to work.

U.S. District Court Judge Sidney Stein said prosecutors could not use evidence they hoped would show Egyptian officials were “frantic about not getting their money’s worth,” despite bribes Menendez allegedly took to help the country access billions of dollars of American military aid and arms.

Stein found the Constitution’s “speech or debate” clause does not allow prosecutors to show jurors the evidence. The clause grants members of Congress a form of immunity that is mostly impenetrable in investigations relating to the official duties of lawmakers, their aides or other congressional officials.
Coincidentally, Stein based his order on a 1979 Supreme Court case about another New Jersey Democrat accused of corruption. In that case, the high court ruled the speech or debate clause barred prosecutors from introducing certain evidence against Rep. Henry Helstoski, who had been accused of accepting bribes.
