Send free faxes?

I don't have a phone line, I don't care about receiving faxes. How can I send faxes using my high speed internet or cell phone as the "modem" for a **regular fax machine** ..is that possible? I want to be able to fax stuff in to various companies after I sign things etc, but not have to have a phone line.

Is this possible? Is the only option to scan it and then send it by PC fax? any recommendations...

I just use the fax machine at work.....easy enuf....no LD codes either.

That's highly illegal and can easily have the law do something about it.

I now use Stanaphone free SIP service to receive incoming faxes. Better than Efax because I can get a local number. Of course, you can use it for incoming SIP calls, too.
But if you don't answer the number and Stanaphone detects a fax, it just takes it in, converts it to a .pdf file, and emails it to you! Coolness. Efax makes you use their viewer, which isn't very portable if you're not on your own pc, last I saw.

You don't need to hook up any phone hardware at all to use Stanaphone strictly as an incoming fax number. Just wait for the emails.

Sure, if you live in the NY area. So only hot if you're local to NY, which excludes a lot of people on here unfortunately.

how do you send a picture? I ask, because what if you want to send a document that has a header?
