Server Dual Power supplies -- 220v + 110v

We have about 6 servers which are running 220v currently in both power supplies. We are looking to switch one of the power supplies over to 110v, while the other power supply remains 220v. This would be done for redundancy matters. They're currently plugged into the same power strip, so if that power strip goes down, the server goes down. If we have one plugged into the 220, and one plugged into the 110, we'd be fine.

My question is will running 220v and 110v at the same time pose an issue to the server? Will it remain up, or will it crash and burn? If it does remain up, if one of them is unplugged, does the server "freak out" and reboot because of the change in voltage?

Whatever the AC current is, it's converted into DC current after the transformer stage in the powersupply, before any of the components in the PC. So it should be fine. How do you plug 2 different PSUs into the PC components at the same time though?

It's a server, it has dual power supplies in the back. My guess is that it runs primarily on one, until it dies, and automatically switches over to the next power supply to keep the system running. This switch would not make a difference in the machine's ability to stay up, even with the different voltage / frequency?

Yep, that sounds about right; the input AC voltage is only used to make sure the PSU doesn't explode. Computer power supplies always output DC 12V, 5V, and 3.3V no matter what the input voltage is.

Shouldn't be a problem.
Just remember that the power supply will draw double the amps when it is on 110/115 as it does on 220v.
So whatever you plug the 110 supply into make sure that it can handle the current.
