SETI@Home WU server down!

I can't connect to the Berkeley server so I think it is down. However once I connected to Confused's Queue again SETI downloaded a new WU. Dang, a whole night of potential CPU time wasted. :\

I think I might just stay connected to a Queue all the time now. Question, if I submit a WU to the Queue will it store the finished WU untill Berkeley's servers are back up?

YEs it will store the WU's

I have over 1300 results waiting to be sent off right now in my queue.

I highly recommend using one of the public queues or set one one up for your self.

i'm having trouble as well. i don't know whether this is the reason though. i had to clear out my program file, so i'm re-installing the client. however, when it comes to putting in my email address, it just lags for about 2-3minutes, then it proceeds to ask me again. any suggestions?

What is your qualification of a public Queue? Confused's is public available as long as they know the address.

Here are some TeAm Anandtech SETI Queues you can connect to.
What's going on now is that the main SETI server is down so you can connect to another Queue to download WU's untill the main server is back up.

i have MREPKO.DNS2GO.COM and port 5001 under my proxy, just as it was before anything was deleted, but still nothing.

Unfortunately if you don't have the userinfo.sah file still it will have to go out to Berkely to get it. ANd when their servers are down you won't be able to get it.

Glad I still have mine then! I was about to do that but I thought I would try a Queue first, and viola!

I am starting to run low on WU's as well. I don't have anything idle right now, but will in a few hours. Grrrrr. I hope when they go BOINC the server issues they frequently have will go away as well.

Why don't you 2 connect to 1 of the public SETIQs?
You won't have to worry about running out of WUs then

Use a Queue! A major part of the SETI game it seems is who has the most Queue's to keep up production when the main server fails! And we got plenty. :evil:

well at least i'm back up. i lost about 4-5wu's worth of time. i'm such an @ss. i tried setting up seti on an ancient pentium toshiba satellite i had in the closet. there was no way i was ever gonna get it online, so i tried cutting the wu folders higher up in my que from my seti@home folder, & transfering them via floppy to the notebook. it was running win95 with 8mb of ram. needless to say, it didn't work, and my main rig needed to connect to be able to d/l new wus.
