Setting up a new computer

Hey guys, been awhile since my last system build, I'm trying to put together a system with a 1GB of DDR 400 and a 74GB Raptor drive. Sorry for the noobish question, but is there anything in WinXP that needs to be done to get SATA up and running at full speed and/or to optimize all this RAM usage? Thanks.

Shouldn't have to do anything out of the ordinary. The only thing you may need, depending on your motherboard, is the drivers for the SATA conroller ready on a floppy disk in case they are needed for windows to install. If windows recognizes your hard drive without them, they aren't needed. Be sure not to have any other hard drives attached when you install windows, as that seems to cause some issues.
