Setting up DSL and wireless router

Okay so i just moved to a new place on the third floor. The land lady on the first floor has DSL . I want to share DSL with there and if i dont get wireless then i will need a lot of wiring to hook my computer with router. My question is that if i decided to get a wireless router and a wireless card would she also need one . I mean can we will still use modem somehow such that she does not have to get a wireless card. Right now i have a internal NIC on my computer . Can any one suggest any other setup. Personally i have never done this and completely new to this.

You could put in a wireless router, and she can still connect via a cat5 cable, directly into the router. This is of course providing that the DSL modem is ethernet, not USB.

Then, you would only need wireless for your machine. If you've got a desktop machine, I suggest you get a USB Wireless adapter, as the 1m of wire will allow you to move the adapter so you get the best signal.

Is teh adapter only used for the signal , or there is some other purpose that it serves as well.
