I guess I should point out I don't tell sexual jokes though I work. I prefer to tell age discriminating jokes. Calling my coworkers ancient relics of the past, referring to them as old and feeble.

Ummm... is this example one that you consider to be subtle?

A more subtle one. One of the women is married to Chinese man, so one of the coworkers jokingly asked if she likes to suck on Chinese Zucchini.

Another: A female worker has a fat pen when a globe on top that vibrates. Very phallic shaped, and one male worker asked her if she cleans this after each use.

If these are the subtle ones I'm afraid to see an obvious one.

Holy shit...your company is just BEGGING for a rash of sexual harrassment lawsuits.

I worked construction most of my life, and while most of us men were pretty crude assholes, when there were women on the crew, we had to tone things down a LOT. Even when the women tell some rude/crude jokes, if a man tells the same jokes, it's grounds for a major lawsuit.

Yes, it sucks that they get to be "randy" and we can't, but that's the way the law sees things..."what would be offensive to a reasonable woman." (as if there is such a thing!)

I'm on a college campus as well, and I was very surprised how professional everyone acts. We still have a lot of fun, but it's all pretty clean and I like it that way.

If I were on the jury, I just might possibly believe that such comments are complaints about the men's behavior. Then, there's this thread. Some lawyer is going to hear about your environment, see $$$, and convince a female coworker of yours to file a sexual harassment complaint. 33% is a pretty good cut for what sounds like an open and shut case.

If you ask me, that's a very unprofessional environment, practically begging for a lawsuit, and you'll be here complaining that some "prude" filed a lawsuit and you're not allowed to be vulgar at work, when you should not have been in the first place.

What if you're on the phone with a client and someone overheard the exchanges? Definitely not good.

Any of those women could file a lawsuit (in fact, if they did it as a group they would clean up) and win. If what you have described is true, the company's own lawyers would just tell them to hand over the money and not even go to court so it doesn't become public.

As some of my co-workers have told me, it's very uncomfortable to be subpeonaed and have to sit on a witness stand repeating things you've said at work. What might have seemed funny at the time makes you sound like a drooling idiot when a courtroom full of people are listening.
