.SFV File to rename files

My hardrive failed some time ago and I was able to recover a number of music albums that I had on there but the file names got messed up into like 8 characters. The music plays fine but all the file name is messed up. I have .sfv files for most of the albums which contain the original filename. I was wondering if there was any program that will use the .sfv file to rename the .mp3 files. I tried 2 different .sfv checkers and it did not seem to have this option. Thanks in advance!

This is more of a software question, however you're fortunate that I don't have the power to move this thread.

Anyhow, I am not aware of any application like you want. SFV uses names to identify which files which hashes should correspond to. If the file metadata is still in tact, there should be programs that can rename the files based on the metadata.

If the ID3 tags are correct and intact then you could use tagging software like Mp3tag to rename the files based on their tags.
