Namesake was a great film, probably on my top 20 of last year. As for this movie...Ken Leung, I've been waiting to see this guy get a proper acting role. Hopefully it gets a wide enough release for me to see it.
basics: asian dude torn between america and shanghai has to choose between kelly hu and 16 year old panettiere. darn.

i don't understand all the hype around panettiere. it's not even like she's the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd best looking girl on that show.

I actually never heard of this movie before stumbling on this thread. I'm a fan of all movie genres including small semi-indy ones no one has ever heard of... anyway, I went to Best Buy and bought it.
It was actually a pretty good comedy/romantic movie. Both girls I watched it with enjoyed it, too. Both commented on the weird setting (I don't think any of us has seen a lead Asian guy go back and forth between an American girl and a Chinese girl before), but liked it because it was unique and fun.
Hayden acts really cute in this movie. I think she won a film festival award for this role too.
Not a blockbuster by any means, but it was pretty good.
I should have played the lead role though. Seriously Hollywood, you want to mainstream Asian guys? Come to me.
