should i get the parahelia?

how much better do you think this card will be compared to the ti4600? And do you think the drivers will be as good as nvidia's? I am debating on getting this card or waiting for the other offerings by nvidia or ATI.

lolbut i dont want to wait i want to know right now. I have heard much on what nvidia or ATI are offering either. All i really know is the r300 is suppose to be pretty cool but who knows with ATI and thier drivers.

If u just happen to have 3 monitors. I'd holla at the parhelia just for the surround gaming. but thats only if it's comparable to the ti4600 in terms of frame rates. We know the image quality is gonna be off the chain

yeah totally... :| where have you ATI-driver-bashers been living for the past few months? ATI HAS GOOD DRIVERS, whether nVidia fans like it or not, they're good. Maybe not as optimized but still pretty darned good, so this misinformation has to stop! :|

Ati's drivers are stable, they really ever since the original Radeon issues were solved have been. Thier problem has been in competeting with nVidia's highly optimized drivers, and to be honest, I am not certain that Catalyst is changing the performance part. I'm waiting for Anand to do a review.

As for the original topic of the thread, wait til tomorrow. It's impossible to make a good decision without numbers

only reason im "bashing" their drivers is because I own an ATI card. I know they are stable drivers (well at least for me) but it will take time for them to get a reputaion anywhere near as good as nvidia's and that is of course if they keep working on them like they do now.

Um yeah im running the catalyst drivers right now. Im also noones damn fanboy I get what I want when i want. You people just dont know how to handle the truth or something like that. Why is it that ATI always hypes there stuff to kill the Nvidia product and it looks good on paper but it can never perform to its potential and beat out nvidia? I want that to happen. I want nvidia to have to worry. I want them to have to lower prices to entice buyers. That way we all benefit and don't have to shell out 400 bux for a brand new top of the line card. Im sorry if you dont agree with what I think. ATI is almost there and this time they could make their move on Nvidia with the r300 (which will probably be my next card)

IMHO, don't get the parahelia....

instead of dropping 400...

drop 150 for a Ti4200 and dropp 250 for a new CPU or even CPU/Ram, CPU/Mobo combo!!!

After seeing today's reviews, I wouldn't touch a $400 Parhelia with a 10 foot pole.

Pocket the cash, get a Ti4200, and upgrade elsewhere.

yeah ive seen the reviews as well. The only thing i am lacking is a nice graphics card and maybe could use a little more ram. I have a p4 2.65ghz with 256megs of pc2700, dvd rom burner, 80 gig hard drive, ok sound card. maybe some new speakers might be something down the line.

no sorry 3d gaming speed is most important right now. Ill just wait for the r300 i guess. I dont have 2 more 19in flatscreen moniters either so this card has no appeal to me. I might get the radeon 8500le to hold me over until r300 or a geforce 3 ti 200
