I can't wait for Republican ads. My opponent is a big government liberal, he shut down the government

Nah, we've already seen the shtick on this forum. The Republicans will revert to form and blow racist dog whistles while pimping the troops.

Go ahead and support the shutdown as it will likely make the rich richer and the poor poorer. The wealthy are probably going to celebrate the money they’ll make in the shutdown by laying off a few thousand workers while ordering another bottle of $2000 wine at Per Se with the bundles of cash they’ll charge the Feds for restarting their contract after the freeze is lifted.

So what? Are we supposed to let Trump & the GOP fuck the Dreamers to save money?

What's the right thing to do? Why won't the GOP just do it & get it over with, foster some harmony for a change?

Maybe you should have thought about fucking them over before proceeding to implement DACA without a law to authorize it?

More accurate than the Trump shutdown.

Problems start from the top, and they have to get solved from the top, and the President’s the leader, and he’s got to get everybody in a room, and he’s got to lead. And he doesn’t do that, he doesn’t like doing that, that’s not his strength. And that’s why you have this horrible situation going on in Washington. It’s a very, very bad thing and it’s very embarrassing worldwide.

Maybe you're being obfuscational?

Or maybe you should tell us what you think is the right thing to do at this point- thumbs up, or cornholio?

Whether or not Obama should have implemented DACA in the way he did is a good debate question for scholarly folks who want to argue about the past on legal and moral grounds.

But here we are in the present with the reality of it.

Trump said he'd provide a path. Said he'd sign a bipartisan deal if it was put on his desk.

It appears both of those things were untrue.

I disagree. If Obama was correct to take a stand against “hostage taking” during budget and debt ceiling talks so the practice wouldn’t be normalized going forward, then for the same reasons we need to make a strong example of DACA type practices so it doesn’t recur.

Ehh... our memories of Obama's time in office seem to differ. The debt ceiling should never be used as a bargaining chip by either side. In fact, it should just be scrapped completely since the debt can be controlled through appropriations (if any party actually ever cared about the debt, which neither do). The Republicans, particularly the Tea Party caucus, repeatedly tried to use it into blackmailing Obama into doing whatever they wanted.

Also, the Republicans tied the shutdown into a repeal of the ACA. If ANYONE thought Obama was going to sign a bill that repealed the ACA, they were a moron.

What we have now is a fight over things that have widespread support. Namely, CHIP and DACA.

So that's a vote for cornholio... strictly on principle, of course.

So then let’s just have Trump do something without enabling legislation that likewise has widespread appeal then tie it to the budget. Voter ID would be a great example, or the Balanced Budget Amendment. Both parties get a top priority the voters are 80% or more in favor of but are bitterly opposed by the other party. Win-win.

It doesn't work that way, Democrats in the opposition party want President Trump to put illegal immigrants ahead of our own citizens by giving in to their blackmail. He doesn't want to do it and can't force them to be reasonable.

More accurate than the Trump shutdown. The winning one is still the Democrats shut down the United States government over illegal immigrants.

I dunno, some guy said that if both parties can't work together and the government shuts down that it is all the president's fault. Oh yeah, that guy was Trump

If we give the DACA kids citizenship will that make it easier for the criminals that brought them to this country in the first place able to gain legal status?

The Dems have zero power to stop the Republicans from passing a budget. Only Republicans can stop themselves (evil against evil).

Go ahead and blame Trump he sucks anyway. Meanwhile the rich will keep on getting the coupon payments from their T-bond holdings. And will be preparing to buy assets on the cheap from people whose transfer payments have ground to a halt.

So what's reasonable in tajbot land? Agree with the donald regardless. Everyone needs to fall into line and do what der fuhrer tells them. They aren't allowed to have their own opinions and ideology. That seems to be your argument tajy. It makes that quote in your sig seem a touch ironic.

Good luck with your frothing at the mouth, delusional crusade. Every time I read one of your posts it's a struggle not to take the piss out of you. Have a nice day.
