A bunch of posturing and bull craps from D's and R's.

Anyone still believes that everyone should follow rules and laws or only fools should do so? Why certain groups could sneak in or overstay visas for a while and then it would be ok for some of the posters here while millions and millions are waiting for years and years in vain to do it the legal way. What a bunch of fools (sarcastic).

Hell, if we have another amnesty as we did during the 80's, those "fools" that are waiting for years won't be fools anymore (sneak in/overstay visas is the way to go, fuck the rules and laws. Fair is fair, right).

So what's the answer? Surely you have one, right? Probably not.

How about read what I wrote in my previous post..." everyone should follow rules and laws"? Oh, I forgot, too hard, too this, too that <insert more excuses for ILLEGALS>.

Some of the posters have some good suggestions above and I am fine with that but blanket amnesty (again) is a big no go.

Exquisitely vague & obfucational. You just showed up to put forth your usual empty rant.

"Everyone should" flies in the face of existing reality. It didn't happen. Now what?

It did not happen then don't bitch and whine when time to pay the piper (ICE, immigration agents, etc.). Very simple to understand.

One more thing, why don't you or any of the ILLEGALS supporter pull the " It didn't happen. Now what?" at any sovereign nation on Earth after you broke their immigration law. What do you think will happen?

Still no solution. Well, unless you're nutty enough to think we'll deport 11M people, send their citizen children packing with them.

Did I say anything about deportation of 11 million of ILLEGALS? I don't think so.

Solution? Did you read any of the suggestions from numerous posters above? Let see, they talked about E-verify, heavy fine for employers with ILLEGALS, control border/enforcement, guest worker program, and so on. I don't remember any of them say anything about deportation of ALL 11 millions of ILLEGAL as you love to pull that same line. Scare tactic much?

Solution? How about let all ILLEGALS back to the line behind the million and million of LEGALS that are waiting for years in vain for years to do the right thing? Perfect example of "fairness", "justice", "equality", "working class", <insert feel good slogans here> that liberals/democrats love to preach.

Solution? How about not do the same thing as we did (blanket amnesty for million and million of ILLEGALS) during the 80's but this time, we will do it better AFTER we give out AMNESTY for even more ILLEGALS. Riiiiiggggghhhhhttttt <eyes rolling upward>

Solution? How about not do the same stupid thing (AMNESTY) and expect different result this time. Just saying.

How do you put illegals at the back of the line w/o deporting them?

You force them to pay all the costs of naturalization for all those who immigrated legally for one. Secondly withhold citizenship from them permanently as a condition of allowing permanent residency. Third, subject them to mandatory public service requirements as a condition of allowing permanent residency.

You suggest that we can get blood out of a turnip with the first sentence. The second sentence is reasonable. The third is a cry for retribution for some imagined harm. We'd spend more to implement the program than any benefit derived.

So come here illegally and we’ll force you into permanent indentured servitude as a second class citizen?

I’d call it slavery but I’m assuming if you don’t pay off the naturalization cost of others and refuse mandatory public service that they would be deported as opposed to chained and whipped into submission.

We hold these truths to be self evident, that all men are created equal and that white people are therefore not superior to anybody else. Whiteness is an evolutionary adaption to living in climes with low levels of solar radiation than the African savanna on which we first evolved and where we all originally came from. The damage that racists do to 'the other' both intentionally via fear induced hatred, or as it seeps out into a bias against certain people at an unconscious level are both repugnant and evil. No person who wishes to pretend to an ounce of decency can support Republican party that we see before us today. Where this pernicious racism is absent, the white supremacist doctrine dictating Republican legislation would be obvious. You are on the wrong side of a capacity to distinguish the inalienable as the answer to your question should be obvious. Your out, of course, is to deny what is obvious. Decent people don't like to admit to being racist even though it is now official policy of the Republican party. They depend on that to hold power.

Trump needs to be impeached and all his racist policies and appointments undone.
Racism is now the official policy of the Republican party? Your twisted worldview and abject, unabashed bigotry is truly amazing. Sadly, I think you've finally lost it.

We don’t normally consider the ROI involved with things meant as deterrents and “paying back debt to society” like jails and mandated public service. We do it despite costs (which really aren’t that significant) to reinforce the point that breaking laws will incur consequences and for shaming purposes.

Guys you heard it hear first. The bigoted party isn’t the one whose standard bearer has said that black people are inherently lazy, that Mexican immigrants are rapists, and that a Mexican judge couldn’t judge him fairly. Not bigoted at all.

The real bigots are those who inform conservatives of their bigotry. Lol.

So now liberals care about ROI?

The last major immigration proposal granted them a permanent legal status but not visas/citizenship. They could wait to get visas then citizenship eventually but would have to go on the list to get them. Realistically many would probably die of old age before they eve made it to the end of that road.

However the childhood arrivals (DACA eligible) would get green cards immediately, IIRC, and a 5ish year road to naturalization.

Real bigots make huge extrapolations and generalizations to rationalize their demonization of millions and millions of human beings who don't happen to share their particular political worldview. Physician, heal thyself!

Exquisitely abstract in a frothed up self righteous sort of way. We've arrived at the unfortunate point where breaking laws and doing harm aren't the same thing. We're also at the point where enforcing the law does more harm than good to a sizeable number of American citizen children & dependents.

What happens if we enhance border security & declare Peace on undocumented workers who've lived amicably among us for many years? What if we find it in our hearts & in our heads to mostly just let it go? Would we really be somehow diminished?

I think not, and I think that the Dreamers & the refugees like the Salvadorans are a good place to start the healing.

Guys, just because I supported an unrepentant racist for the most powerful office in the world doesn't mean that I share his views!

Have you thought about that maybe we should? How much harm does recreational weed do to society? And how much does it cost to catch, process, and lock up all those potheads? We all know the math, and it's not pretty.

I gave you the definition of a bigot...and you qualify in spades. Deal with it bigot.

Yes, I first remember hearing the 'if you don't like bigots then you are a bigot' argument in about sixth grade. It is as dumb now as it was then.

Trump's racism is obvious to everyone with a functioning brain. If you want to continue to support someone you know to be a racist that's your business. That choice has consequences though.

People really need to read the Fourteenth Amendment and the Equal Protection Clause. There's a reason why Southern racists like Roy Moore want to get rid of it.
