Shutting down issue

hey everyone. i recently built my friend and computer and it has some trouble turning off. Here are the specs:

Asus P5n32-E Sli
core 2 duo E6420
WD 250gb hd
corsair xms 2gb kit
enermaz infinity 650w psu
leadtek 8600gt tdh extreme
liteon combo drive
stock intel cooler

the problem is when i shut down in windows, the monitor turns off and the computer hangs with the fans on full speed for about a minute and then it shuts off. it would be nice if when you pressed turn off it actually turned right off and nut hung there for a while. someone help me out and if you need better specs then tell me.

By the sounds of it, i would say its trying to shut down something and struggling. strange about the monitor going off first though..

you could limit whats started up in the systray and see if that helps..

yea it still hangs there. have disabled everything i don't need using msconfig but to no avail anyone have any other info that might relate to this problem?

What version of bios are you using ? i know with the GA N680SLI-DQ6 boards the F4 version of bios was having shut down issues check your MB bios version and google to see if others are having the same problem too ? good luck

Its not really what I would call a problem. Its actually your Enermax PSU. They have a tendency to run for a little bit after the computer shuts off.

The computer is off, but the fans will run for a minute or so, and then shut off. Its a good feature that cools down your system after usage.

I'm not sure how you would take it off other than to replace the PSU.

yea io have the 1103 beta bios so that might be my problem. going to flash with the 1102 bios and see if that fixes it. thanks for brining that to my attention.

oh really? ya know thats what i was thinking when it first happened but it didint seem really possible. yea i downgraded my bios to version 1102 so its not on the beta 1103 bios anymore. duong thanks alot for giving me that info. now i know theres nothing wrong with it . this also confirms that im not an idiot
