Simple RAM problem

...Build session today. ...Everything at hand besides my RAM. ...It comes in Monday. ...I'm wanting to go ahead and burn it in tonight and the only stick I have available is PC100. (I'm fairly confident that I know the answer to this question, but I won't give my thoughts so I can get unbiased answers) ...Will my PC100 fit the 184-pin slot intended for PC3200? (In general terms....is a 184 slot backwards compatible far enough to accept PC100?

no, it wont, it has 2 notches and a 168 pins and you need 1 notch and 184 pins....that should be painfully obvious if you look at the ram and the slots

...thanks a lot for your responses, but yeah, I answered my own question about 5 minutes after I started the thread. ...Just took a look at the stick, kinda sized it up to the 184 slot and realized that it wouldn't go. I think I kinda jumped the gun on starting this post. Thanks again
