While I'm no health expert, I feel things would be better if the above quote was changed to "Exercise a lot, cardio, weight training. Dieting helps." I'd place more emphasis on exercise and less on dieting.
Diet (not dieting) is 90+% of fitness, with exercise being the remainder. If you exercise daily but still put away 2 big macs or a load of taco bell you're still going to be overweight. Not to mention the havoc it wreaks internally, which you don't see.
Now, I mean diet, as in, life-change eating healthy forever stuff. Not I'm-only-going-to-eat-salad-for-2-weeks dieting, there is a huge difference. And the latter usually doesn't work.
If you don't want to be skinny fat start doing resistance exercises. Even bodyweight stuff will help! Chronic cardio is pretty bad for you too!
