It's the first building on the right as you walk in the town gates.I'm an Orc, I'm going to run light armor, 2h weapons and archery?
I can't find a blacksmith in Whiterun.

Ok I took a close look and am indeed using 3.5gb+ of vram at times. Strangely it seems to be higher indoors, where my fps are always above 60.With just some basic modding of the SSE, and already downgraded from a mix of 4k and 2k textures to just only 2k textures, I was already at 4 GB VRAM usage. With the mix of 4k and 2k textures, I was using about 5.5 GB VRAM or more. You probably dont have enough VRAM for modding SSE, considering you only have 3.5 GB VRAM. Vanilla SSE uses about 2 GB VRAM maxed out I believe.
Tried taking one of those on right at the start. Giant walked up and hit me once with a massive downward smash. My body launched lifelessly about 500 ft into the air. Was awesome.Damn, I just got my ass handed to me by a giant. I can see its going to be a while before I can put up a fight with one of those.
Some things level based on what your level is to balance the fight to avoid making it too hard or easy.Damn, I just got my ass handed to me by a giant. I can see its going to be a while before I can put up a fight with one of those.
I have SkyUI 2.2 working just fine now (and without warnings), thanks to a tweak on reddit.
Yeah, looks a bit complicated but it's really easy. The instructions are pretty much spot on, you can't really go wrong. Took me say...15 minutes.this is good news for those that don't want to wait for SKSE SE. Looks pretty involved, though

Here's assuming all of the SE mods are ironed out by Marchish.
The uncapped makes it crash though.
I'll look at it more closely, but the times I have it was only ~2.5gb vram reported usage. And usually with vram issues, I'll experience massive stutters and rapid fps drop when panning, but it returns to a higher stable fps when you're still. I can look straight at a wall outside and still have a constant 50fps or less depending on the area. And with SLI vram is the same, so I'd expect low fps if vram were the issue, but with SLI my fps are awesome. Just game is completely unstable.
Honestly, most of the mods that do exist are smoothed out now. I'm @ like 30 mods now, and zero issues. No crashes, no significant stuttering (beyond very intensive areas that make my 970 cry), runs like butter otherwise. More mods are being added but I've yet to experience anything gamebreaking.
Mods like Requiem, Frostfall, Sovinheim (or whatever it is called--that massive explorable region with new quests and such), gameplay and combat/skill overhauls? I'm waiting for the major overhaul mods to be back up, in particular, because it's the only way I can see myself being interested in devoted hours beyond the already-logged 500 or so. ....and in a "download from Nexus and install" sort of way that doesn't involve manual .ini tweaking from old skyrim mods to new skyrim. Even if that works, I'm not one to bother.

SkyUI 2.2 is a direct download to mod manager install, the error message only shows up when talking to a merchant and it's in the background and never affects you so I just left it as is.
I put 200 hours into regular Skyrim the first go around but most of that time was from starting new characters and abandoning them by level 12-20. I had never even traveled to Riften or Solitude or done any of the big quest lines incl the main quest, so there's still a boatload of content for me to see. With that said, there's a reason I skipped all that stuff last time, I find Elder Scrolls incredibly boring when I'm following the major quests... it's just awful. This game is most fun when I'm wandering around and clearing areas as they come along, as soon as Skyrim tries to make me care about some NPC or "story" I start to realize there's something better I can be doing with my time than this nonsense.
It should be possible to increase the grass and trees (and possibly shadow) draw distance in one of the ini files (skyrim.ini or skyrimprefs.ini) under documents/my games/skyrim special edition. I haven't experimented with it myself (yet), but I suspect it might affect your framerate significantly.Would it be able to mod/tweak this game to extend draw distance even further?

For other LOD such as landscape clutter, rocks, bushes, mountains and people you could try the ugridstoload thingy. Now that Skyrim is 64-bit it should be possible to experiment more with it without the game crashing. However, just increasing it one step will have certain side-effects, such as events being triggered too soon, i.e. before you arrive at the scene of the event. So use with caution.
They killed the blacksmith next to my house in Whiterun like the day I bought it. I just showed up and she was dead. Poor Claudia Christian. The Vampires are attacking Whiterun!
Man I wish there was some way to disable the DLC. This is a lot for a full noob to deal with I'm only level 8 for pete's sake. What if an important NPC gets killed by a vampire? Would suck
