Smart choice?

I'm going to be purchasing the MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum motherboard and an AMD 64 3000+ CPU soon. I have heard many stories about people receiving their K8N and having to RMA it because it did not work. I do not want this to happen to me.

Would it be wise to buy a combo at Mwave.com (mobo + CPU) and have it assembled and tested for $9 instead of buying both from ZZF? Would this keep me from receiving a non-working mobo?

You already answered that question in your post. If they test it, wouldn't that mean they will give you one that works?

A bunch of people will say a bunch of different things. I'm sure that whatever you heard about the board doesn't represent the opinions of the majority of the owners of the boards. You'll probably be fine. If you think the 9 bucks is worth it, that's up to you.
