- I don't think so. Smart watches started out looking like toy watches, now they are simply mimicking regular watches better.
- Regular watches don't have to be round. There are plenty of other shapes. Check out the Famous Hamilton Ventura or Jaeger's Reverso.
- I know I am in the minority, heck, watch people are the minority of minorities. Hence I asked the question. Why try to be something they are not?

The Fitbit for example, is beautiful and unique. Minimalist and functional. Smart watches can be so much more, than mere imitation of traditional watches.

I'm sure along the line somebody will come up with something that both looks good and serves the smartwatch functions better. Until then, we're settling for the watch look since that's what people (currently) seem to like. Maybe after some time if companies see there's a large enough market for smart watches, they'll take more risk on new designs.

The replacement watch I got is much quicker and the battery is a lot better too. I came home with more than 70% this time as opposed to 50% with the initial one.

Went to best buy today to check out some watches. I was interested in the Gear S2 classic, but I agree with others in that it's a bit small. I'm not a fan of large watches but the face of this one just seems out of place on my wrist. They had a Huawei watch in box but nothing out in the open to compare which is a shame. I liked the Gear S2 interface but it's simply too small for me.

I'd agree with this. It looks great on wrist, is super comfortable, and you don't constantly bump into it when you bend your wrist like the old Moto 360. For quick peeks the screen size is fine, but reading through any real amount of content isn't great on the small screen.

Changing font size to small helped though obviously at the expense of making everything smaller. However text is still sharp and easy to read.

I would get a few of those for gifts if those were a bit cheaper. It at long last looks like a normal watch, but it does not look like a $350 watch. Of course it is a smartwatch and all that but for $350 the value just does not seem to be there. At $200~250 I think it will be way more compelling and impulse-friendly.

This. I was really hoping Samsung would bring this device in for less; had they, I'd be wearing one now. It and my S5 would be having digital sex.....

So I forgot to charge my S2 Classic last night - so after 48 hours off charger, I still had 48% battery. This was with normal, relatively light use during the day to mostly check time and notifications.

I think 3 days is going to be easy for most users if necessary - battery life is a nice surprise.

That's pretty darn good. I can get two days or a bit more out of my huweii now that it's settled in. But I always charge it every night. It's sitting at 57% right now and its 11:30 pm.

My very first smart watch was a Samsung gear live which I returned after a few days. It wouldn't charge completely, the snap on charger was horrible as was the band. My second watch was gen 1 moto 360 which had issues with charging, it wouldn't charge when you put it on the cradle with 20% or less battery and would continue to drain until it dropped down to 2% and only then would it begin taking a charge and would take several hours to get to 100%. Motorola advertises 90 minutes from 0 - 100 which it never was able to achieve. Then there was battery life and it drained the battery around 10% an hour forcing me to charge it in the middle of the day which was completely worthless.

Currently I have a gen 2 moto 360 46mm which has fantastic battery life. I can run all day on a single charge and could probably make for part of the next but why chance it. The body is so much stronger than the 1st gen which has a tendency to flex and crack the back plate. This charges right up once you place it on the cradle and the large display suites my tastes just fine. I have large wrists so it sits just fine for me whereas someone with a smaller arm might want the smaller watch. I fell in love with the 2nd gen when I saw it on display at best buy and the flat tire sensor doesn't bother as much as I first thought it might.

No smart watches aren't for everybody and until I used one I really didn't think that I had a need for one. I really like having Wi-Fi on it so it can keep google fit and other services up to day without needing my phone to be nearby. I'm sure that during the next 5 years that they will continue to innovate and improve as well which I find exciting.

I'm sure everyone has gotten the M update on their watches by now.

I didn't realize this until I noticed some new options on my huwei. For example I didn't know it had a speaker. I can accept a call on the watch and speak through the watch while I have my phone lay around the house.

It also works for ringtones and alarms, and other sounds.

Found this pretty cool but I need to remember to turn this off when I go in my car as it automatically connect to my car's system but a call will still play through the watch if it's left on rather than my car's speakers.

It also brought some new wrist moves. Flick down on home screen and brings down the drop down menu, then swipe wrist left or right to go through your settings there and flick down to go into settings or toggle options on or off.
