Slower? Do you mean clockspeed? Not to be obtuse but "so what"? Unless you do nothing but streaming, the P4 will still run slower...

Wrong, unless every program I have is multithreaded, or dual proccessor capable, it will run slower than the higher speed single core.

That is exactly right....For many ot would be a lateral or backwards move...

For AMD users the dual core come at the higher end of single cores so for most it represents their highest single core performance even before OCing...Ocing is icing on the the cake and 4400+'s hitting 2.6ghz-2.7ghz(air cooled) or 5200+-5300+ X2s are too much for any P D to match even at 3.6ghz....

Very true. I'd like to see some X2 results on phase, so I know what I can expect when I can cough up the dough for mine.

A stock X2 a 3.6 PD can't match let alone one at 2.6-2.7.

I assume you mean Conroe, right? Dothan is the Pentium M that is currently out now. Yonah is the next Pentium M, available for notebooks in Q4 2005/Q1 2006, and Napa is the platform (chipset, graphics and wireless lan) it will run on. Conroe is the next major reworking of Intel's desktop chips. It is supposed to be based on the Pentium M architecture with some improvements for the desktop market. It is scheduled for Q3 2006.

I have my PD 3Ghz..

I originally have the Gigabyte GA-GI945P Pro board with Geil DDR667 1GB DC Kit..It failed to post with it.. Then I tried Crucial it failed to post.. Single stick would post..

Anyways idle with stock cooler was 45-48 and up to 54 gaming.. So I wanted dual channel..

So I just got the P5LD2 Asus board and now idle my CPU is 60c.. I checked and rechecked it's seated correctly.. Gaming it goes to 68..

I have a good case with 3 exit fans, and 3 fresh air incoming.. Maybe the ASUS temp calculation is off?

So now I added another fan to keep it as a cool 41c idle and gaming at 48c.. 22" Lasko Floor Fan butted up next to the open case side.. lol it's moving alot of air..

With the rush of X2 overclocking, I was wodering why I couldn find almost no mention of Intel 8XX overclocks on Anand.

You need to go to ocforums or extremesystems to find Intel 8xx overclocking threads. Here, you'd only get bashed as half the posts of this thread have been already.
