Why did the guy even assault him, just get in the car and drive away and it ends well, attack the guy and risk use of deadly force. It's a no brainer for most people.
Why didn't the murderous prick just call and report the driver?

Seriously, you're a fu*king asshole.

For one thing, the cops don't even want him to do that. If the parking offender never experiences any public shaming or any other consequence, the person will continue doing it indefinitely.

That is why.

For some reason, I expect you to disingenuously keep asking "WHY?!" as if that is a rhetorical question.

So, they must like lawsuits. Cause there will be one. Separation of Church and State.

Maybe. Maybe not.

As a Floridian, and one who lives in the Tampa area where this event went down, I can tell you that this is a very conservative state and town. The reason it seems like just crazy people live in Florida is because it's about the only thing exciting that hits the news. People here are generally hard working, mind their business, and local governments work alongside businesses pretty well. It's boring from a news standpoint, hence the once-in-a-while crazies, but it's very successful. I can tell you that the expected population growth here in the Greater Tampa Bay Area is very high. It is an incredibly diverse area, and the local governments are run quite well. It's a great place to live as a result.

I don't give a shit what the cops want. If the alternative is an armed murderous piece of shit confronting people and taking the law in to his own hands. Use your Fucking bra*n.

Be careful and considerate about where you park. Don't violently assault a stranger. The stranger could be packing. Even if your violent assault ends after only a moment, you might get shot anyway.

Just something to keep in mind.

Also, don't shoot someone who is retreating from you and no longer presenting a threat to anyone. That's just common decency.

So what do you think? Should I wait or just do it now?
Oh, totally up to you! Personally I don't feel there is anything to gain by putting people on ignore, and that it actually represents a failure on my part if I lacked the strength to just scroll by. I did put one person on ignore once, though. Who knows, someday you may even gain a valuable insight from someone you vehemently disagree with. Putting them on ignore eliminates that possibility, and also may inhibit you from better developing your own arguments against positions you disagree with.

Some people aren't worth it. Maybe you will be.

I'm not afraid of failing if it's for a good reason.

Hmm, maybe you will be worth it, too! I appreciate your passion, because the opposite of passion is apathy, and apathy is never good. I was once far more passionate about the things I believe in. But in excess, such passion in anger just looks like someone hitting out blindly, carelessly striking friends, foes, and bystanders alike.

I'm all good. I've managed to maintain a relationship with someone I adore that was a Trump supporter until recently. Certainly makes life better now that he loathes him. As for unloading stupid people? Never really had too many of them in my life to begin with.

I absolutely get angry on this forum but I have never once in my real life lashed out like I do here. Not because I fear to... I meant it, I have always made it an important thing to keep stupid people at arm's length.

I grew up in a small town. I've learned as much as I'm interested in learning from people who choose to stay small, be small, stay uneducated or under-educated, embrace hate. In fact I attribute part of who I am in the world to them. They taught me alot about who I don't want to be. ... And in some cases even how to let my hair down and have fun... my hair's pretty much always down ('cause it's super short and I love having fun more than the average bear).

Trust me, if I thought I was hurting myself with this I would re-evaluate. The most important rule I live by is to go to bed at the end of the day able to like if not love myself. My success rate is very, very high. Far better than any one I know except maybe my husband though I think we're pretty even.

Yeah I remember this fucking jackass harassing a woman and her kids for parking where she shouldn't. As many times as this guy was stirring up trouble in the parking lot, I'm surprised that the owner/clerk hasn't already called the police on the dude before, and told him that if come here again he is trespassing.

Appears video footage contradicted the defendants account of the event, without it he may have been able to use the "stand your ground" method to committing murder. At least he'll serve a little time in jail, but that dude's still dead.

I didn't know anything about this case until a couple days ago. But this is a really good example of why you dont talk to the police without a lawyer present. This guys own words buried him. And the thing is at that moment he probably interpreted the guys movements as aggressive even though the video shows differently . Which is understandable given he just got crushed 5 seconds earlier. And his adrenaline is running. But a lawyer can craft the msg so it doesn't bury you in court.

As I understand it, he wasn't tried under the 'stand your ground law". His lawyers went for just plain old self-defense. Either way, I think the verdict reached was the correct one.

Yeah, they changed it to self defense before the trial. This was a slam dunk for the jury. He had a prior history of threatening people with his gun and the parts of the video tape that we did not see showed more damning evidence against him. Drejka was itching to shoot someone.

I agree with the court's decision here. I think man slaughter might even be a little light.
A murder chaarge would need evidence that might have possibly planned this, manslaughter still carries a 30yr max sentence and was the correct charge. Jury acted quickly and correctly in convicting this asshole.
