This seems pretty hokey to me....why would Maxis make it to where Radeon cards arent as good for the game on purpose?

When you said "I guess this fixes it :" i thought you were going to go on to give us something to change in that file... do we need to change the true to false?

or is there no fix for it?

I like it, but haven't REALLY got into it yet. I actually think I'm doing ok in terms of budget. Got my taxes at around 9% in a city of 2000 odd people, and I'm making a profit. Sure, cut backs have had to be made, but as long as you're reasonable with the taxes, demand for houses will still go up. Then as the population increases, so does your income, and you can afford to make some budget improvements...meaning that the demand for houses/commercial increases even further. It's slow going, but I think it will work. Going to continue on it now in fact.

Btw, I've found performance isn't exactly amazing on my p4 2.2 with a geforce 4 ti4400! It just seems slightly sluggish at times, nothing major though.

I've installed it but have yet to actually play beyond starting it for 2 minutes to check that it installed properly.

i got a ti4200/950mhz athlon/256mb. currently i got a city of 25000 ppl or so and the performance is ok. mostly b/c of the swapping. when i usually play at 2 levels above the closest zoom and if i zoom in there is a lot of swapping.

the game's pretty hard. i have only 1 city and i built it up really slowly. i just put down a universty and hopefully that'll make the citizens richer with time. i'm gonna built a few neighboring cities and see how that works.
