I wasn't going to follow these games but now I'm intrigued. I'm gonna enjoy reading first-hand accounts, like this:

My Postmedia colleague Cam Cole’s bathtub came loose from the wall, and therefore rocks like a ship. He has a shower curtain, though. In the Rosa Khutor section of the mountains, Stacy St. Clair of the Chicago Tribune was told by the front desk that if the water worked, “do not use on your face because it contains something very dangerous.” When it did come out of the tap, it looked like a lot like cloudy urine.

Was listening to Jeremy Schapp on Mike & Mike this morning talking via an intermittently working cell phone....about 20 minutes ago. He'd just gotten into his "hotel" room. Said it certainly wasn't luxurious, esp. if you count working plumbing as a luxury. Sheesh.

Have seen pics of toilets in some rooms that have signs next to them admonishing those using said toilet to not flush toilet paper down the toilet but instead put the used toilet paper in the provided waste basket.

And to think $51B was "spent" on the construction.

Honestly - thats probably the least surprising issue as numerous places in the world do not have municipal water systems that can handle paper waste. (Most of Russia is like this along with Romania, parts of Greece, lots of places in Asia etc) Sure $51B is a lot but I could see upgrading the water systems and water treatment facilities everywhere to handle paper at the same time as building a new city being one of the first axes to fall in terms of getting other things done or to save money

But just think of the efficiency gained by not having to run separate electrical and water lines! So much more usable space if we cut down on pumbing
