People that think the Kim was robbed don't understand the scoring system. The Russian had a substantially more technical program. That's why she Kim lost . The margin was more or less the difference in their starting technical scores.

Skating clean doesn't mean as much as having a higher starting technical score. Fuck the men's gold medalist still won and I believe he fell twice in his free skate.

Yup and the Russian also skated awesomely well, too, I might add. Let's not be naive regarding home cooking and multiple judges having connections to Russia. It is what it is.

It's too bad that Korea has pretty much no other hopeful in women's figure skating because 2018 WO in Korea would've been prime for payback (judging, too).

The Russian had 7 flawless triples. Kim had 6. The Russian had more difficult combos and a more difficult spin. Her technical scores weren't out of line. More so when she hit all of her harder elements in bonus time. If she botched her 7th triple she would have got a silver but she stepped out on a double. The 7th triple and harder combos and spin more than make up for that in the scoring system. If Kim had a 7th triple or had done the more diifficult combo she would have won.

It's funny that Wagner comments on it. Wagners program had a higher starting technical score than Kim's. She just can't land worth shit so she lost a lot of points.

The Russian went balls to the wall and Kim and the Italian skated flawlessly but both skated conservatively. Of the top 7 skaters they had the lowest starting technical scores.

Yuna had far more difficult SP than the Russian but she wasn't rewarded. The Russian had the easiest triple combinations (3t,3t) in SP yet she was virtually tied with Yuna? Are you kidding me? She should've scored around 69 with that SP. And 149 for the FS with a stumble is laughable. When I saw the 149 score I knew it was over. But I'm just happy Yuna had a clean skate and finished her career with two great performances. And thanks to YouTube it will be saved so I can revisit it from time to time.

Russians are going to rule ladies figures for awhile now. Only reasonable challengers are the Americans. With Yuna and Mao retiring, I'm also retiring from watching ladies skating.

Shouldn't have been a difference of more than 5 points though, Russian score was inflated. Ashley Wagner, American skater who finished 7th and knows a thing or two about the scoring system and figure skating said this: "I'm Speechless... This sport needs to be held more accountable if it wants more people to believe in it."
