Ooops, missed that.

The jump must be pretty low in altitude. Not sure why they'd do that though, considering those temperatures are perfectly in-season and normal for day-time highs this time of year for the region. You have to go to higher altitudes to get better air temperatures that will maintain snow.

I think the ski-jumps do tend to be near the bottom of mountains, but you'd think they have planned ahead of time to account for the typical lack of daytime snow-ready temperatures.

i really do not understand why the fuck sports talk radio can't give spoiler warnings and shit about when they are just about to talk about what is going on in olympic worlds during the quick sports updates. their target audience for the most part is working during the day and can't be watching stuff. thanks for spoiling where shawn white finishes for me you jackasses.

Well that seems kind of pointless. I agree live is best, but the reality is that the world is big and we can't all watch the events live in prime time. And I enjoy watching them for the sport. I do wonder about the commentary, though. Is it recorded during the event or afterwards? I thought it was a bit suspect when Julia Mancuso was the last girl to go down in the women's combined, with a shot at winning. Did she really go last, or did they edit the tapes to add tension?

To be fair, Vancouver had the same issues. I was walking around during the Olympics outside in a tshirt during the day. The events in Cypress (hill right outside the city) had to truck in snow and had to cancel tickets to some events because they had to focus on snow for the runs and not for the spectator sections. The Whistler events were fine though although it was still a bit warmer than they liked during the day.

ah ok. i lol'ed watching the games yesterday, they had a 10 minute expose on julia at her home in hawaii. lots of shots of her tight abs and butt outfitted on the beach and the weight room with shorty shorts and a tank top. seems to me they're giving her a push since lindsay vonn isn't around to take up all the air time.
