Socket A 750 Athlon help please!!!!

750 socket a athlon @ default clocking @ 40 degrees celsius
with 7000 + rpm fan
asus mobo a7v bios rev 1004c @ 30 degrees celsius
via 4 in 1 .25a drivers
promise u160b25 drivers
30.6 gig seagate barracuda ata66 7200 rpm
256 meg ram pc133 sdram
3dfx voodoo3 3000 agp with whql 1.05.00 drivers
soundblaster live value with latest me drivers
100 meg zip drive
3.5 floppy drive
yeong yeng 250 watt p/s & server case
50 x spin diamond data cdrom
win me clean install on reformat

Problem is lots of glitches on screen when TRYING to play games
plus game crashes and retrns to windows, some games will not load
onto system

Have tried new ram, win 98 oem and se, new motherboard,
new harddrive and given the credit card a hard time
with no success.

Used a program called burnit 2.1 and it came up with a
mathematical addition/subtraction problem
mmx ok, ram ok, 2d & 3d ok, cdrom ok, harddrive ok,
floppy ok and printer ok.

As I dont know which way is up with this program, is there
any tech/expert/god who can help with this drama

I hate to jump on this bandwagon but maybe a 300W or more PS? its usually what AMD people always pt to, and it makes no sense to me...but since you've already spent so much...look fer an AMD approved one btw ... I got a 300W PS and I get less crashes...btw, I am running at an insane 1.98V through my slot A athlon...many say it's &quot;unhealthy&quot;

7000+ rpm fan?! jeebus! what one is that? anyway, who manufactured your ram? apparently the a7v is very picky. i checked amd's website an didn't see any winme registry entry like they've got for win2k, so we can rule that out. did you install the agp drivers off of the asus cd?

my fan runs at 6800-6900 rpm, and its pretty good but unknown too, got from www.2cooltek.com, I'd trust those guys if my eyebrows wuz on fire

All drivers have been loaded onto system with the same glitchy results
Reloaded vagp403 from asus site ....... no difference
Fan is Global Win FOP38 @ a whopping 7k plus ....... awesome &amp; noisy
Money is only a problem when you cant pay the bill ........
so looks like a 300+watt p/s coming up ..........
Sd Ram is Legend 128mb PC133 Nova
Had the same problems with the MSI K7T Pro board also

1.Is the soundblaster in PCI slot 3? It should be.
2.Reserve IRQ 5 for legacy drive in BIOS.
3.Are you using the ATA 100 Channels? Don't. there is no speed gain in it for you, and the drivers are still shaky.

The soundblaster has been reserved irq5 for legacy device thru the bios
Hecter Pecter .... its very frustrating ........
Gonna take the cpu and drop it into another Socket a system thats
running ok today or tomorrow to see how it performs.

another question........
has anyone used the program BurninTest 2.1 as the cpu came up with a mathematical problem
mainly with subtractions and the odd addition error.
