SODIMM prices coming down?

It looks like regular memory prices are dropping by 15-20% (or they have in the past month)...

Any experts out there know if a similar trend is going to happen in the short term for SODIMMs?

To my knowledge it already has. Previously, 512MB SODIMM's ran $80+. Now they can be had for under $70. 256MB sticks can be had for <$30 shipped.

It's worth noting that 512 sticks were going for $70ish about a year ago, then spiked up and now are coming down to what they were before. 256mb sticks are practically free if you go on ebay, as nobody really wants them.

Outpost has Kingston 512 meg for $44.99 after $20 rebate.

Never mind. Outpost sucks.
Jerks screwed me, and while website stated $44.99 after $20 rebate when I placed order, it now shows $54.99 after $10 rebate.

Even if it still is a couple dollars cheaper than Newegg, stick with Newegg as they are honest, while avoiding websites like Outpost that play pricing games to sucker you in.
