Solteks are crap!

Well i got this i845G (SL85MR2) and a stick of sammy 2700 wouldnt work at 333Mhz. Only boots at 266 @ 333Mhz it hangs. So i sold my old 9500 and ram and then just got a 9600XT and some hyperX and same damn thing. I Flashed the bios and nothing even after a reformat. Now After a format (@ 2.53 v1.55 266Mhz DDR) it slows down 95% after it loads to my desktop, and then freezes. I hate this motherboard, i guess ima just get another stick of ram and a abit i865PE? Help me out please, thanx

Soltek is crap, or YOUR specific Soltek is crap?

Soltek is NOT crap, neither is Abit, Asus or AOpen, etc... you are simply (maybe) unlucky to be stuck with a dud... tough luck :-/
Solve your particular problem with your mobo instead of dragging the manufacturer in the dirt. (Every manufacturer have problems now and then...)

Let's see. You're running your cpu and GPU way out of spec, and Solteks are crap?
Makes sense to me.

Earth to Xeon: if it runs fine at standard speeds, that's all it has to do to not be "crap".
It's like when you buy a Quarter Pounder at McDonald's Xeon. They didn't rip you off if it weighs four ounces.

why are u acting like a douche bag? After the overclock i set everything to spec and it wasnt any better. I oced to 2.9Ghz before i flashed the bios and it worked fine till i would put the mem back to DDR333 then hangs. Reread my post and maybe after you read it you might understand.

Well i flashed the bios(instability drivers) it made it worse off then before. I have built plenty of comps with P4/asus combos but just at the time $90 was a good deal. And cant everyone please stop flaming thanx

Your original post invites the flames. Being frustrated with one piece of hardware is no reason to post the brand is crap, unless you have links to lots of other guys posts who are in the same boat as you, and company admissions of flaws.

Have you considered the possibility that running the board out of spec with your overclock could have harmed it? Anyway, if you think the board is bad, why not RMA it? It is possible that you got a lemon. I've never owned a Soltek, but I've always heard good things about them.
