Here are some choice photos (from about 500) from my girlfriend and I's trip to Cayo Coco late last month, thought I would post them since I'm bored.

Plane trip there, July 24th
First day, not so tanned
Giant moth, must have been 4 inches in wingspan

anyway, I am planning to go there for new year's. Sure, it'll be more expensive, but its the only vacation I have (interns don't get any benefits :|)

Yeah I did post asking for travel advice and such, and yeah the American side of the responses were not terrificly pleased with the destination. Enjoy it when you go, where are you going exactly?

I am American and would like to see Hemmingways home. I have seen it on TV and know there probably isn't much to it, but still I like him as a writer and would like to see how he lived while he was in Cuba. Other than that I guess the old cars there would be kind of cool to see. What is there to do in Cuba besides going to the beach? Are there any cool sites to see? I would have looked at the pics, but am on dial up and don't usually look at pics when people post them. Anyway glad you had a good time.

Awesome, my wife went there a few years ago and said the beaches are then nicest in the world.. Did you get around the island or do you stay within the resort?

Don't know excactly where yet, but I can ask my sister for a nice place. She and her husband are addicted to Cuba. They've been there like 6 times in the last 4 years.

It's a pretty place just the populace is kinda poor and everything is overpriced..

yeah...the places where the tourists go may be pretty...but if you go to the some of the towns there you'll be surprised how much of a sheet hole it is...everything is rationed out...hardly any food or anything for the people. Hell they even ration out the electricity there to only a few hours a day.

Don't be fooled...Castro only let you see what he wanted you to see...that place is hell. My family constantly has to send medicine.

I'm Cuban and wouldn't go there just because I wouldn't want to give my dollar to that son of a biatch Castro...I'd go to Key West or the Bahamas or somewhere else..
