Some things about RAID...

Do you connect 2 drives to one ribbon, set one slave and the other one master, or do you put them both to master?

depends on chipset

scsi raid, every drive gets a id and dont care about the rest

ide raid, some mirror chipset needs both drive to be master on different channel
some can be master/slave
some dont care

same as stripe set...

what chipset do u have

nop just the onboard raid on a KK266. so it is a AMI ATA/100 IDE RAID Controller

If you have 2 drives you plug one inot each raid port on the mobo. I asumme you have two which should be correct. This is the optimum way of connecting them.

ok... You were guessing right... I have 2 Quantum AS 40GB, and use a Atlas 10k ii for the OS and APZZ... now I was just wondering... to get organized in there...

I will ask if there is anybody running a KK266-R and a raid with 2 HDD one on master and one on slave...
