Sound card help

Every song i play sounds like a record. With the popping and stuff. Any ideas on whats the prob?

Two things to try

1) Reinstall the sound card driver
2) Go to Device Manager and see if there is a resource confilt with any other device.

I had that problem with my Klipsch 5.1 speakers connected to my SB Live Platinum 5.1 - it turned out to be defective speakers...

Few questions. What mobo are you using? When did you first notice this problem? What audio source are you playing (cd or mp3)?

Try adjusting the PCI Latency Timer in the BIOS. You can also try Disabling PCI Delay Transaction in the BIOS. If you have a motherboard with a VIA chipset, make sure the latest 4-in-1 driver is installed, and try using the VIA IDE Miniport driver, which is available from viaarena.

Hey Rav3n, I noticed that you have the same "old sound card" that I have Platinum 5.1. I have a problem with the headphone jack on the front panel. I get no sound out of it. any suggestions?
