I just bought me some Logitech Z2200 speakers and I have both a Creative Audigy 1 (gamer) and onboard Nforce 2 Audio. Which one would be better? Before i had my nforce 2 hooked up to my receiver and was doing 5.1 but I decided i rather have my receiver on my TV and could care less about surround sound on my computer.
So audigy 1 or Nforce 2 with the soundstorm audio?

I play games and listen to music some times

Thanks

Quality is similar... So I'd just use the Audigy to take a bit of load off your CPU.

Sorry to hijack the thread, but should I buy this soundcard (Creative labs sound blaster 7.1 - like 30 dollars) or is the onboard audio that comes with a NF4 mobo (Realtek ALC850 8-channel - for example) better?

I know it takes a little of my cpu, I just want a better sound experience, but 30 is all I can spend on a sound card.

I'd try the ALC850 out first then if you don't like...

I have the same situation except that I already have a soundcard, the Acoustic Edge by Philips. I think i'll be using it instead of the ALC850.

Use the Sound Blaster. I'm assuming that's Live you're talking about. I have the same onboard sound and my SB Live 5.1 sounded much better. My Audigy 2 ZS was even better than that. Even if you use only headphones I would go with the sound card instead of onboard if it's not soundstorm.
