Ugh that was last week for us in San Antonio, 106-109 in the day, doesn't drop below 100 until like 9 or 10PM, still feels like 100 until near midnight thanks to the god damn humidity. Shit gets old fast. We're fortunate tonight, only 85 with a 90 degree heat index as 11PM approaches. Almost makes me feel human.

Yea, I'm getting the bones of my house down to 62 in anticipation for the 3 or so days of hell coming in a day or so. You're getting it down there more than here in western Washington. I hate it when it gets above 90.
This sounds extreme, but with no AC you have to get your house chilled down at night.

• The worst July we ever had we had 22 days of 100+ (July 2011)
• The worst month we ever had we had 27 days of 100+ (August 2011)
• The 7 day forecast is all 100+

So July 2022 will pretty likely set the record for most 100+ days in a month in San Antonio, and has a great shot to be the hottest month ever recorded in San Antonio. Though wouldn't be surprised if both records fell to the month of August 2022 since August is almost always our hottest month.

You don't get wildfires yet.

There is no "wild" for 20+ miles from here. The LA basin is a concrete jungle.

You have to live near open space for wildfires to be an issue. They never spread past the first few blocks into a city.

LOL on the KSAT 5:00 news the weatherman told us we had a better chance of winning the mega millions lottery tonight than getting rain. Also tied the record for most 100+ days ever in a July in San Antonio (22), and with our 22/23 record this month I like our chances of beating the alltime record of 27 days in a month (August 2011) to make July 2022 the hottest month ever recorded here. Well, for a month, as August will surely be hotter. Also hit our 44th day of 100+ today with almost two months of summer left and only 15 days from breaking our record of 59.

78 F and 9:30 am. Looks like we are headed for mid 90's. I can manage with opening up at night. It will still get above 80 inside no matter what I do. What sucks is this is going to stay for several days with the possibility of getting smoke from the Oak fire down in California. So I get to open up at night to choke on smoke. This is becoming a new norm. New kitchen, or AC?

I went with AC about a month ago. And I'll probable save money on electricity running one big unit than a bunch of smaller less efficient ones. Pro tip: get a smart thermostat. I got the Ecobee 4 with some extra sensors.

My kitchen will have to wait until next year. Or the year after (I need to get the house painted too). Always something.
