Does anyone know of any free spam email blockers which are easy to use and work well?

If you do, can you please provide a link to download it. Your help is greatly appreciated.

You don't mention which e-mail program you are using, but if you use Outlook or Outlook Express try this freebie!

Keep in mind that no matter which program you decide on, that so far, most require some
set-up to be even marginally effective. I've tried about a dozen programs and have yet to find that "magic" spam blocker!

mailwasher pro and spam fighter both cost $$$. If you want freeware solutions check out K9 for Outlook/Outlook Express and Mozilla for IMAP.mrbass.org/spam

SpamPal is good in that it uses RBL (real-time blacklists) but that's it no bayesian filtering (train what is/isn't spam). I'd say that elmiminates about 40% of spam but if you want to get to about 99% you need to use bayesian filtering.

I'm using K9 & love it
I haven't had spam in my inbox in quite awhile (currently 99.5% accurite) & it's easy to set up & totaly free. Only works with POP3 accounts though.

I've heard people talk about these ones before but haven't tried them myself.

I use K9 which was great. Even BETTER than Norton Anti-Spam. The only problem is that it wasn't too user friendly for me and the instructions proved to be frustrating.

I'm now using the other much loved FREE spam software: POPFile (http://popfile.sourceforge.net/) It's much more user friendly to me and very effective once it starts learning.



.........out of curiosity, K9 developer says he was inspired by PopFile. Both programs seem to work identically except for the interface.........Does anyone know if K9 & Popfile are one and the same, just w/ a different interface?..........
